ATHLETICS / FITNESS 

Beginner's Zumba® (Adults & Teens 13+)
Dates: 
Mondays      April 29 - June 10 (No Class May 27)

Location: Moon High School Fitness Room
Fee: $45 Moon residents/$50 Non-residents, per 6 week session
This class is designed for you to have fun while you burn calories. It is a great way to begin an exercise regime. Beginner's Zumba® is a combination of Latin based dance moves; salsa, cumbia, soca, flamenco, samba, hip-hop, and more that will really make you sweat! Dance experience not required.

Pilates (Adults & Teens 15+)

The Pilates method of body conditioning is a unique system of stretching/strengthening exercises that work the entire body. Expect to flatten your abs, strengthen your core muscles, increase flexibility, firm buttocks/thighs, and improve your posture. For all fitness levels.

Pound® (Adults and Teens 15+)

Fee: $45 Moon residents/$50 non-residents ($10 Drop In)
POUND® is a full-body cardio jam session, combining light resistance with simulated drumming. The workout fuses cardio, Pilates, strength movements, plyometric and isometric poses. Through continual upper body motion using our lightly weighed exercise drumsticks, called Ripstix, you’ll turn into a calorie-torching drummer, POUNDing off pounds as each song flies by!

Public Swimming (All Ages - Moon Township Residents Only)

Starts Monday - Friday, September 10 throughout the school year
Time: 7:45p.m.-9:00p.m.
Location: Moon Area High Natatorium
Fees:  $3 Adults 18+; $2 Children 3-17; Children under 2 free
Registration: Just drop in and swim! 
Enjoy an evening at the pool.  Children under10 must be accompanied by an adult.  Lap swimming available.

Public Summer Swimming (All Ages - Moon Township Residents Only)
Dates: Monday- Thursday June 10th through July 11th (No Swim on 7/3 or 7/4)
Time: Noon - 5:00p.m.
Location: Moon Area High School Natatorium
Fees:  Adults, 18 and over- $3
           Children ages 3-17- $2
           Children under 2 free
Registration:  Just drop in and swim!

Totally Toned (Adults & Teens 15+)
Dates: Mondays  April 29 - June 10 (No Class May 27)

This class is designed to help tone your entire body including abs, thighs, back, arms, and glutes. It is appropriate for all fitness levels. Bring hand weights, a mat and water.

Yoga: Basics and More (Adults & Teens 15+)
Dates: Tuesdays   May 7-28 (4 Weeks) -  May 21 Class at Robin Hill

Fee: $40 Moon residents/$45 Non-residents -per 4 week session ($12 Drop In)

Whether you are yoga-curious or yoga-proficient, this is the class for you. No experience required. Instructor, Jen Stratakis E-RYT, will lead you through an hour-long class, which includes standing and seated poses, breathwork and guided relaxation. Modifications are given to accommodate all levels of yoga experience. With regular practice, yoga can improve lung capacity, flexibility, cardiovascular endurance, mental calm and more. Participants should bring a yoga mat and water. Namaste!

Youth Flag CoEd Rugby (Grades 1 - 6)
Dates: Tuesdays and Thursdays, June 11 – August 8
Time: 6:00 – 7:00 p.m.
Location: Discovery Field @ Moon Park
Fee: $100, fee includes shirt and jersey
Kids in 1st through 6th grades will learn the game of rugby by developing skills and playing games.

Youth Flag Football (Ages 4-14)
Dates: Sat. Aug. 17, 24 & Sept. 7 (Skills and drills)
             Sun. Sept. 15 thru Nov. 3
Time: 10:30 am-Noon
Location: Hyde Elementary
Fee: $45 (t-shirt included)
Boys & Girls ages 4 thru 14 (age groups 4-6, 7-8, 9-10,11-12,13-14).  Learning football fundamentals such as running, catching & throwing. Ages 4 thru 14 Teams will be formed.  Volunteer Coaches needed.
          


P.A.L.S. PROGRAM 

P.A.L.S. is a program Providing Assistance, Love and Support for children with special needs and their families.

ART/EDUCATION/NATURE

Safe Sitter® Babysitting & Safety (Grades 6-8)

Do you feel ready to stay home alone, watch your brothers and sisters while your parents are gone, or babysit for younger children? Then maybe it's time for Safe Sitter®. Safe Sitter® is for young teens in grades 6-8 who are ready to learn the skills they need to care for themselves and younger children.  In addition, Safe Sitter® teaches young teens life and business skills, so that they know how to be prepared, be responsible, and be considerate whether they are babysitting or doing odd jobs for family, friends, or neighbors.
You'll have fun. You'll learn a lot. And at the end of the day, you can proudly say, "I am a Safe Sitter®!"

Teen Drivers Education

Fee: $25 registration fee (Moon residents) $30 (Nonresidents) paid to Moon Parks and Recreation. Balance of the class fee, $425, is paid directly to Kennedy School of Driving.
Location: Moon Township Municipal Building
This course will be instructed by the Kennedy School of Driving. Upon successful completion of the 30 hours of theory and 6 hours of in-car training, a certificate will be given that is accepted by most insurance companies.
Participants must be 16 and have a learner's permit for the on-the-road portion of the program. The registration fee is NON-REFUNDABLE and is payable to Moon Parks and Recreation. The fee will secure you space in the class. The balance of $425 is paid to Kennedy School of Driving at the first class.
