  • Programs with a drop-in option do not require pre-registration.
  • Sign up in person at the Parks and Recreation office.
  • Limited online registration is open here
  • Call the Parks and Recreation office at 412-262-1703 to pay with credit card.
  • Send in a check to our mailing address with the participants name, date of birth, address, phone and e-mail. You will not be officially registered in the class until you receive a confirmation e-mail.
  • If interested in teaching a class with Moon Parks and Recreation, please fill out a proposal and submit to info@moonparks.org

ATHLETICS / FITNESS  

For all classes: 

  • Space is limited, please register online or call the Moon Park office at 412-262-1703 
  • If the class is weather dependent and rain prevents the class from running, an additional class will be added to the session. 
  • The Robin Hill Center is closed to the public. Public bathrooms are available at the entrance of the park. 
  • For classes at Moon Park, multiple public bathrooms are available in the park.


Youth Flag Football (CO-ED, Ages 4-14)
Our Youth Flag Football program is a Co-Ed program that teaches your child the fundamentals of the sport. The first week of the program will consist of a skills and drills clinic (followed by a draft), and the remaining weeks will consist of team practices and scrimmages. The program will be led by volunteer coaches.

Dates: Sundays, September 15th-October 20th
Time: 9:30-11am
Fee: $40 Moon Resident, $45 Non-resident
Location: Moon Park- Discovery Field



Youth Tennis Lessons
Session 1: June 1st-June 22nd
Session 2: June 29th-July 27th
Cost: $50/Resident, $60/Non-Resident per 4-wk session

Red Ball (Ages 5-7): Saturdays, 9-10am
Orange Ball (Ages 7-10): Saturdays, 10-11am
Green Ball (Ages 11-14): Saturdays, 11am-Noon



Kettlebell (Adults & Teens 15+)
Dates: June 25th- July 30th (Tuesdays)
          July 12th-August 16th (Fridays)
Days/Times: Tuesdays 5:30-6:30PM, Fridays 10-11AM

Step up your fitness game with our dynamic Kettlebell Class! This class is a mix of strength training and cardio movements using the kettlebell to challenge your entire body. Get ready for a fast-paced class that will guarantee a good sweat! Unleash your potential, one kettlebell swing at a time. Kettlebell provided!



Barre (Adults & Teens 15+) 
Dates: Wednesdays, April 10th- May 15th
Location: Moon Township Schoolhouse Activity Center (120 Mooncrest Dr.)
Time: 8:30 – 9:30 am
Fee: $45 – Moon Resident $50 Non Moon Resident (Per 6 week session)

This class has a max participation number of 18 people. Please register online. For more information about space availability for drop-ins, please email pilatesbodyj@gmail.com. A total body workout that lifts your seat, tones your thighs, abs, arms, and burns fat. This workout includes elements of ballet, Pilates, and traditional toning exercises. The class starts with standing barre work. The class ends with core work and a series of deep stretches. Bring a mat and a pair of 1-3lb dumbbells. For all fitness levels.


Hip Hop Cardio (Adults & Teens 15+)
Dates: April 4th-May 9th
          May 16th-June 20th 
          June 27th-August 8th (No class July 4th)
           August 22nd-September 26th

Join Amy for some cardio dance exercise! You can take the moves up to make them harder or modify for any fitness level. Amy will help everyone with fun fitness through dance where everyone can leave feeling like they had a great workout and had fun! Class will include warm up and cool down also.


Pilates (Adults and Teens 15+)

The Pilates method of body conditioning is a unique system of stretching/strengthening exercises that work the entire body. Expect to flatten your abs, strengthen your core muscles, increase flexibility, firm buttocks/thighs, and improve your posture. For all fitness levels. Bring a mat, light hand weights (3lbs or less) and water.


Totally Toned (Adults & Teens 15+)
Dates:  Mondays, April 15th- May 20th
                         June 3rd-July 15th
Location: Moon Township Schoolhouse Activity Center (120 Mooncrest Dr.)
Time: Mondays- 6:30 – 7:30pm 
Fee: $45 – Moon Resident $50 Non Moon Resident (Per 6 week session)

This class has a max participation number of 15 people. Please register online. There are no drop-ins for this class. This class is designed to help tone your entire body including abs, thighs, back, arms, and glutes. It is appropriate for all fitness levels. Bring hand weights and a mat.


Yoga Beginners and Beyond (Adults & Teens 15+)

This class has a max participation number of 16 people. Please register online. Drop-ins welcome ($12 cash or check at the door). If dropping in, please arrive 10 minutes before the class start time. 

Yoga-curious or yoga-nervous? Then this is the class for you...No experience required! Instructor Jen Stratakis E-RYT 500, will lead you through an hour-long class, which includes standing and seated poses, breathwork, and guided relaxation. Modifications are given to accommodate everyone. With regular practice, yoga can improve lung capacity, flexibility, cardiovascular endurance, mental calm, and more. Bring a mat, water bottle, and any other yoga props you may have. Blocks are especially helpful.  




ART/EDUCATION/NATURE 

Swiftie Painting Class (Ages 8-15)
Are You Ready for It?" A Colorful Painting of Iconic Eras! Unleash your inner artist in a vibrant painting class inspired by your favorite pop icon's eras! Start with a guitar outline, choose symbols from her music, and paint with era-themed colors. Guided by expert instruction, create a masterpiece while singing along to her hits. Spaces are limited—sign up "SWIFTLY!

Safe@Home by Safe Sitter (Grades 4-6)

Fee: $25 Moon residents, $35 non-residents
Location: Moon Park Office Classroom (downstairs)
Safe@Home by Safe Sitter® is a program designed for students in grades 4-6 to prepare them to be safe when they are home alone. Safe@Home is a 90-minute program that teaches students how to practice safe habits, how to prevent unsafe situations, and what to do when faced with dangers such as power failures or weather emergencies. Students are also introduced to the Safe Sitter® First Aid Chart and learn a system to help them assess and respond to injuries and illnesses.

Safe Sitter Essentials (Grades 6-8)

Fee: $45 Moon residents, $50 non-residents
Location: Moon Park Office Classroom (downstairs)
Safe Sitter® Essentials is a 1 day program designed for students in grades 6-8 to prepare them to be safe when they are home alone, watching younger siblings, or babysitting. In addition, Safe Sitter® teaches young teens life and business skills, so that they know how to be prepared, be responsible, and be considerate whether they are babysitting or doing odd jobs for family, friends, or neighbors.  The majority of this instructor led class will be hands free with numerous skill demonstrations and videos to compliment the class curriculum. This class will not include CPR skills.
