2018-2019 Basketball League (Grades 3-8)
Evaluations will be held on November 10 and 17.  Practices begin the week of Monday, November 26 - Days and Times vary
Location: Practices at various elementary schools during the week;  Games at Moon Area Middle School gym on Saturdays.
Fee:  $50 for 1st child; $40 for 2nd child; $30 for 3rd child $10 service fee for non-Moon Area School District participants
Register:  Please register online, in the office, or via mail by Friday, November 9.
                  Registrations will also be taken at the clinic on November 3 and on evaluations days. 
                  Late fees apply after November 17th.

Boys and girls grades 3 through 8 will learn skills and play games.  The program kicks off with a free clinic by the Robert Morris University Men's Basketball Team on Saturday, November 3 from 2:00 – 3:00 p.m. at the Moon Area Middle School gym.  Volunteer coaches needed.

Saturday, November 10 - Skill Developement with Drills Evaluation
The Recreation Basketball program will meet this Saturday, November 10 at the Moon Area Middle School gym. The program will continue to offer skill development with drills. Coaches who are planning to assist with their child’s team are encouraged to attend to help with the age group they will be coaching. The schedule is as follows:
8:30 a.m. - Boys Grade 3 & 4
9:30 a.m. - Girls Grade 3 & 4
10:30 a.m. - Boys Grade 5 & 6...
11:30 a.m. - Girls Grade 5 through 8
12:30 p.m. - Boys Grade 7 & 8

Report times for the following age groups:
8:30 a.m. - Boys Grade 3 & 4
9:30 a.m. - Girls Grade 3 & 4
10:30 a.m. - Boys Grade 5 & 6...
11:30 a.m. - Girls Grade 5 through 8
12:30 p.m. - Boys Grade 7 & 8
Drafts are for parity among the teams only; everyone will make a team & play an equal amount of time.

Beginner's Zumba® (Adults & Teens 13+)
Mondays      March 4 - April 15 (No Class 3/25)
Time: 6:00p.m.-7:00p.m.
Location: Moon High School Fitness Room
Fee: $45 Moon residents/$50 Non-residents, per 6 week session
This class is designed for you to have fun while you burn calories. It is a great way to begin an exercise regime. Beginner's Zumba® is a combination of Latin based dance moves; salsa, cumbia, soca, flamenco, samba, hip-hop, and more that will really make you sweat! Dance experience not required.

Belly Dancing Body Fitness  (Teens 15+ and Adults)
Dates:  Wednesdays, January 9 - February 13
                                   February 20 - March 27
Time:  7:30 – 8:30 p.m.
Location:  Moon High School Fitness Room
Fee:  $45 residents; $50 non-residents, per 6-week session; $10 drop-in
Belly dancing body fitness is a fun high-energy, low-impact toning exercise format with emphasis on abdominal and oblique muscles set to upbeat middle eastern music.  This graceful format is a total body workout that is gentle on the joints.  No high-impact jumping in this exercise format, just fluid dance exercise, executed through mind and muscle-controlled movements to beautiful soulful music.

Pilates (Adults & Teens 15+)
Wednesdays     January 9 - February 13

Time: 8:30a.m.-9:30a.m.
Location: Robin Hill Center
Fee: $45 Residents/$50 Non-Residents, per 6 week session ($10 Drop-Ins)
The Pilates method of body conditioning is a unique system of stretching/strengthening exercises that work the entire body. Expect to flatten your abs, strengthen your core muscles, increase flexibility, firm buttocks/thighs, and improve your posture. For all fitness levels.

Pound® (Adults and Teens 15+)
Tuesdays  January 8 - February 12
                             February 19 - March 26 
Time: 6:30p.m.-7:15p.m.
Location: Moon Township Municipal Building
Fee: $45 Moon residents/$50 non-residents ($10 Drop In)
POUND® is a full-body cardio jam session, combining light resistance with simulated drumming. The workout fuses cardio, Pilates, strength movements, plyometric and isometric poses. Through continual upper body motion using our lightly weighed exercise drumsticks, called Ripstix, you’ll turn into a calorie-torching drummer, POUNDing off pounds as each song flies by!

PADI Discover Scuba Program (Ages 10+)
Dates: Sundays, January 20 or April 28
Time: 12:00p.m.-4:00p.m.
Location: Moon Area High Natatorium
Fees:  $50 per person per day
Registration:  Registration at the park office only. 
Register by December 7 for the December 9 program.
Register by January 18 for the January 20 program.
Register by April 26 for the April 28 program.
Learn the basic safety guidelines and skills needed to dive under the direct supervision of a PADI (Professional Association of Diving Instructors) professional.  Two sessions to choose from.  Must be over 10 years old.

Public Swimming (All Ages - Moon Township Residents Only)
Starts Monday - Friday, September 10 throughout the school year
Time: 7:45p.m.-9:00p.m.
Location: Moon Area High Natatorium
Fees:  $3 Adults 18+; $2 Children 3-17; Children under 2 free
Registration: Just drop in and swim! 
Enjoy an evening at the pool.  Children under10 must be accompanied by an adult.  Lap swimming available.

Totally Toned (Adults & Teens 15+)
Dates: Mondays  January 7 - February 25 (No Classes 1/21 and 1/28)
                            March 4 -  April 15 ( No Class 3/25)
Times: 7:15p.m.-8:15pm
Location: Moon High School Fitness Room
Fee: $45 Moon residents/$50 non-residents (per 6 week session)
This class is designed to help tone your entire body including abs, thighs, back, arms, and glutes. It is appropriate for all fitness levels. Bring hand weights, a mat and water.

Yoga: Basics and More (Adults & Teens 15+)
Dates: Tuesdays   January 8 - February 12 (6 weeks)
Time: 7:30p.m.-8:30pm
Location: Moon Township Municipal Building
Fee: $40 Moon residents/$45 Non-residents -per 4 week session ($12 Drop In)
        $60 Moon residents/$65 Non-residents -per 6 week session ($12 Drop In)
Whether you are yoga-curious or yoga-proficient, this is the class for you. No experience required. Instructor, Jen Stratakis E-RYT, will lead you through an hour-long class, which includes standing and seated poses, breathwork and guided relaxation. Modifications are given to accommodate all levels of yoga experience. With regular practice, yoga can improve lung capacity, flexibility, cardiovascular endurance, mental calm and more. Participants should bring a yoga mat and water. Namaste!
Zumba® Fitness (Ages 13+ and Adults)
Dates: Thursdays    February 21 - March 28
Time: 6:30p.m. - 7:30p.m.
Location: Moon Township Municipal Building -Auditorium
Fee: $45 Residents/$50 Non-Residents ($10 Drop In)

P.A.L.S. is a program Providing Assistance, Love and Support for children with special needs and their families.

P.A.L.S. Program (Ages 4-17)

We invite kids with special needs as well as their family and friends to join us for movies, games, special events, and more!


Safe Sitter® Babysitting & Safety (Grades 6-8)
Sunday February 3
Time: 10:00am-4:30pm
Fee: $45 Moon residents, $55 non-residents

Do you feel ready to stay home alone, watch your brothers and sisters while your parents are gone, or babysit for younger children? Then maybe it's time for Safe Sitter®. Safe Sitter® is for young teens in grades 6-8 who are ready to learn the skills they need to care for themselves and younger children.  In addition, Safe Sitter® teaches young teens life and business skills, so that they know how to be prepared, be responsible, and be considerate whether they are babysitting or doing odd jobs for family, friends, or neighbors.
You'll have fun. You'll learn a lot. And at the end of the day, you can proudly say, "I am a Safe Sitter®!"
