ATHLETICS/FITNESS  


Beginner's Zumba® (Ages 13+ and Adults)
Dates:
 Mondays      April 29 - June 10 (No Class May 27)
Time: 6:00p.m.-7:00p.m.
Location: Moon High School Fitness Room
Fee: $45 Moon residents/$50 Non-residents, per 6 week session
This class is designed for you to have fun while you burn calories. It is a great way to begin an exercise regime. Beginner's Zumba® is a combination of Latin based dance moves; salsa, cumbia, soca, flamenco, samba, hip-hop, and more that will really make you sweat! Dance experience not required.

Cardio Tennis (Adults)
Dates: Wednesdays, July 24 - September 4
Time: 10:00 – 11:00 a.m.
Location: Moon Park Tennis Courts
Fee: $20 drop-in per day or purchase a 7 week session for $120 (includes 1 free class)
This is a high impact program with fun on the court. Music, ladders, easy-to-hit balls, and lots of running will have you burning 800-1000 calories in an hour! Perfect for someone looking for a change in their fitness routine.

FREE Beginner Tennis Clinics (Adults)
Dates: Saturdays, May 4, June 1, July 13, August 3

This is a free tennis clinic for adults who have never played tennis. Certified professionals will teach each session focusing on skill development.

The Pilates method of body conditioning is a unique system of stretching/strengthening exercises that work the entire body. Expect to flatten your abs, strengthen your core muscles, increase flexibility, firm buttocks/thighs, and improve your posture. For all fitness levels.

Pound® (Adults and Teens 15+)
Dates: 
Tuesdays,  May 14 - June 18  (May 21 Class at Robin Hill)

Fee: $45 Moon residents/$50 non-residents ($10 Drop-In)
POUND® is a full-body cardio jam session, combining light resistance with simulated drumming. The workout fuses cardio, Pilates, strength movements, plyometric and isometric poses. Through continual upper body motion using our lightly weighed exercise drumsticks, called Ripstix, you’ll turn into a calorie-torching drummer, POUNDing off pounds as each song flies by!

Public Swimming (All Ages - Moon Township Residents Only)

Starts Monday - Friday, September 10 throughout the school year
Time: 7:45p.m.-9:00p.m.
Location: Moon Area High Natatorium
Fees:  $3 Adults 18+; $2 Children 3-17; Children under 2 free
Registration: Just drop in and swim! 
Enjoy an evening at the pool.  Children under10 must be accompanied by an adult.  Lap swimming available.

Public Summer Swimming (All Ages - Moon Township Residents Only)
Dates: Monday- Thursday June 10th through July 11th (No Swim on 7/3 and 7/4)
Time: Noon - 5:00p.m.
Location: Moon Area High School Natatorium
Fees:  Adults, 18 and over- $3
           Children ages 3-17- $2
           Children under 2 free
Registration:  Just drop in and swim!
Children under 10 must be accompanied by an adult

Totally Toned (Adults & Teens 15+)
Dates: Mondays  March 11 -  April 15

This class is designed to help tone your entire body including abs, thighs, back, arms, and glutes. It is appropriate for all fitness levels. Bring hand weights, a mat and water.

Yoga: Basics and More (Ages 15+ and Adults)
Dates: Tuesdays   April 9 - 30 (4 weeks)  April 9 class at Robin Hill
                              May 7 - 28 (4 weeks)  May 21 Class at Robin Hill

Whether you are yoga-curious or yoga-proficient, this is the class for you. No experience required. Instructor, Jen Stratakis E-RYT, will lead you through an hour-long class, which includes standing and seated poses, breathwork and guided relaxation. Modifications are given to accommodate all levels of yoga experience. With regular practice, yoga can improve lung capacity, flexibility, cardiovascular endurance, mental calm and more. Participants should bring a yoga mat and water. Namaste!

Splash – Water/Mixed Media Art Classes (Adults 18+)

Location:  Robin Hill Center – 949 Thorn Run Rd., Moon Twp. PA
Fee: Moon Residents $74 Residents, Non-Residents $79. *Fee does not include supplies.
This class is designed for new and returning students. This is an eight-week course designed to engage all students in the fun and exciting world of water-based materials. No previous experience is necessary - just a desire to have fun.
