We have also developed a project list that individuals or groups may be interested in taking on or assisting with. Many of these projects would be appropriate for Girl/Boy Scout awards, Senior projects or other service based awards and projects. Please contact the Moon Parks office for more information about this list.

The volunteer program gives one an opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of friends, neighbors and the community. Volunteer Procedure

To become a volunteer, you must meet certain entry requirements, such as:

  • Completion of an application
  • Personal interview
  • Clearance/Background check
  • Orientation
  • Once accepted into the volunteer program, training, evaluation and education are provided on an ongoing basis.

As per PA state requirements, effective July 1, 2015, all new volunteers ages 18 and over must submit copies of listed clearances before volunteering with Moon Parks.

  • Report of Criminal History from the Pennsylvania State Police
  • Child Abuse History Clearance from the Department of Human Services
  • Additionally, a fingerprint based Federal Criminal History is required if a new volunteer (18+) has NOT resided continuously in PA for the past 10 years. If the volunteer HAS resided continuously in PA for the past 10 years, a disclosure statement must be signed before volunteering with Moon Parks. Volunteer Disclosure Statement

All volunteers are required to renew clearances every 36 months.
