What is the Senior Connection?
The Moon Township Senior Connection offers senior programming to anyone 55+ in Moon Township as well as all surrounding communities. Membership is FREE with the purchase of a membership card ($10).
Registering for Programs and Events:
Event and program registrations are currently made by calling Moon Parks and Recreation at 412.262.1703 ext. 404 on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, or Thursdays. In person registrations occur on Wednesdays from 10-2 at the Carriage House. Payment is due at the time of registration. A full listing of current information, program guides, and monthly newsletters are always available at the Carriage House in Robin Hill Park in our Senior Connection Information Box. The box is located just outside the Carriage House entrance. Information is also available at moonparks.org.
Cancellation Policy:
Cancellations made less than 7 days before the event will incur a 25% cancellation fee. Refunds will be made to your account. No Show - No Refund.

Come enjoy a full day of springtime in the Ohio countryside. You will start at Heritage Village at the Craft Mall for a scavenger hunt, a Lunch feast at the Der Dutchman, onto Coblentz Chocolates for a sweet treat, a candle carving demonstration at Lamp & Light candle, next onto Walnut Creek Brooms to watch old fashioned straw broom making, and last stop of the day will be at Swiss Heritage Winery for a complimentary glass of wine then the Broad Run Cheese Shop.

Yes, it’s camp time kids! Wear casual attire and a bathing suit to partake in camp style games and enjoy getting wet at the splash pad. This cookout will offer hot off the grill hamburgers and cheeseburgers, picnic style sides, beverages, games, prizes and live music by the “Dr. Zoot Duo”. Play, eat, dance, and have FUN! (Towel, sunscreen, and water shoes suggested) Seating will be at picnic tables only. Feel free to bring a folding/lawn chair.

Travel via deluxe motorcoach to outside of Buter Pa. to this annual event. Upon arrival, enjoy a stuffed pork chop dinner, dessert, and beverages at the Social Hall. Then we’ll take a short stroll to the Outdoor Rodeo Arena for the 8pm start. The event features Jr. Bull riding, Calf roping, Barrel racing, Bareback Bronc riding, steer wrestling and more. Lots of excitement and fun to be had. We will depart and head home at approximately 10:30pm.
NOTE: This is an outdoor rain or shine event, please plan accordingly. Bleacher seating only and a jacket, blanket & seat cushion is suggested. All restrooms are portable potties. Concession stands will be available. I have requested group seating for the dinner as well as the rodeo. Keep in mind folks that this is a livestock event that will come with smells and maybe some dust and dirt.

Join Amy for some cardio dance exercise! You can take the moves up to make them harder or modify for any fitness level. Amy will help everyone with fun fitness through dance where everyone can leave feeling like they had a great workout and had fun! Class will include warm up and cool down also.

No experience required! Instructor Jen Stratakis E-RYT 500, will lead you through an hour-long class, which includes standing and seated poses, breathwork, and guided relaxation. Modifications are given to accommodate everyone. With regular practice, yoga can improve lung capacity, flexibility, cardiovascular endurance, mental calm, and more. Bring a mat, water bottle, and any other yoga props you may have. Blocks are especially helpful.

POUND® is a full-body cardio jam session, combining light resistance with simulated drumming. The workout fuses cardio, Pilates, strength movements, plyometric and isometric poses. Through continual upper body motion using our lightly weighed exercise drumsticks, called Ripstix, you’ll turn into a calorie-torching drummer, POUNDing off pounds as each song flies by!

Barre is a total body workout that lifts your seat, tones your thighs, abs, arms and burns fat. This workout includes elements of ballet, Pilates, and traditional toning exercises. The class starts with standing barre work and ends with core work and a series of deep stretches. Bring a mat and a pair of 1-3lb dumb bells. This class is for all fitness levels.

The Pilates method of body conditioning is a unique system of stretching/strengthening exercises that work the entire body. This class will incorporate all the key principles of Pilates such as postural alignment, breathing, core stability, controlled movement, and flexibility. The class is low impact. Location: Moon Park Amphitheater
This class will help seniors (55+) maintain a fitness level to stay mobile. It is a LOW impact aerobics class that will work on balance and strengthening while having fun and meeting new people. The class will be held outdoors mostly at Moon Park Amphitheater. The class is weather dependent and will have a max capacity of 15 students.
