Beginner's Zumba (Ages 13+ and Adults)

Location: Moon High School Fitness Room
Fee: $45 Moon residents/$50 Non-residents, per 6 week session
Instructor: Catherine Hollien
This class is designed for you to have fun while you burn calories. It is a great way to begin an exercise regime. Zumba Fitness is a combination of Latin based dance moves; salsa, cumbia, soca, flamenco, samba, hip-hop, and more that will really make you sweat! Dance experience not required.

Pilates (Adults and Teens 15+)

The Pilates method of body conditioning is a unique system of stretching/strengthening exercises that work the entire body. Expect to flatten your abs, strengthen your core muscles, increase flexibility, firm buttocks/thighs, and improve your posture. For all fitness levels.

Pound (Adults and Teens 15+)

POUND is a full-body cardio jam session, combining light resistance with simulated drumming. The workout fuses cardio, Pilates, strength movements, plyometric and isometric poses. Through continual upper body motion using our lightly weighed exercise drumsticks, called Ripstix, you’ll turn into a calorie-torching drummer, POUNDing off pounds as each song flies by!

Public Swimming (All Ages - Moon Township Residents Only)
Dates: June 11 – July 27 (No Swim on July 4)
Time: 12:00p.m. – 5:00 p.m.
Location: Moon Area High School Pool
Fees:  $3 adults 18+; $2 kids 3-17; kids under 2 free
Registration: Just drop in and swim! 
Enjoy an afternoon at the pool this summer.  Children under10 must be accompanied by an adult.  Pool is open 7 days a week.

Senior Workout w/Linda Francis

Come out and meet our instructor, Linda Francis! This class will help seniors maintain a fitness level to stay mobile. It is a “LOW” impact aerobics class that will work on balance and strengthening while having fun and meeting new people.

Totally Toned (Adults & Teens 15+)

This class is designed to help tone your entire body including abs, thighs, back, arms, and glutes. It is appropriate for all fitness levels. Bring hand weights, a mat and water.

Yoga: Basics and More (Ages 15+ and Adults)

Instructor: Jen Stratakis
Whether you are yoga-curious or yoga-proficient, this is the class for you. No experience required. Instructor, Jen Stratakis E-RYT, will lead you through an hour-long class, which includes standing and seated poses, breathwork and guided relaxation. Modifications are given to accommodate all levels of yoga experience. With regular practice, yoga can improve lung capacity, flexibility, cardiovascular endurance, mental calm and more. Participants should bring a yoga mat and water. Namaste!

Moon Parks and Recreation is sponsoring a Zumba class. They are 6-week sessions that are designed to have fun while you burn calories. Splash – Water/Mixed Media Art Classes (Adults 18+)

This class is designed for new and returning students. This is an eight-week course designed to engage all students in the fun and exciting world of water-based materials. No previous experience is necessary - just a desire to have fun.


What is the Senior Connection? - The Moon Parks and Recreation Senior Connection offers senior programming to anyone 55+ in Moon Township as well as all surrounding communities.  Membership is FREE.  Membership Cards can be obtained at the Moon Parks office in Moon Park during business hours or at the Carriage House in Robin Hill Park during a Senior Connection Social. 

Registration - Please call 412-262-1703 ext. 404 Tuesday through Thursday to register for the following programs.  Also, on the first Wednesday of each month at the Carriage House from 11am-Noon, we will be available on-site for registrations.  Other registration options are listed at the top of this page.  Payment is due at time of registration.  Senior Connection discounts cannot be applied when registering online.

Senior Connection Socials (Adults 55+)

Location: Carriage House at Robin Hill Park, Moon Township
Open to anyone age 55 and older. Join us for coffee, conversation, snacks, and many activities to suite many interests. Drop in or stay all day. Come enjoy fun and friendships. Monthly schedules available at the socials.  On the first Wednesday of each month from 11am-Noon, we will be available on-site for registrations.

Beginner Painting Class with Heidi Lee (Ages 55+)
Dates: Tuesdays, May 1, June 5, July 24, and August 7
Time: 9:30a.m. - 11:00a.m.
Fee: $10 per class, checks made payable to Heidi Lee or CASH when registering at the Parks and Recreation office.

Beginner Class using acrylic paints. Still life on canvas. Instructed by Heidi Lee from Heidi Lee Portraits. Painting with our own Senior Connection with a Twist! Have fun while creating your own masterpiece.  Supplies are included.

Line Dancing with Marilyn (55+)
Date: Tuesdays
Time: 10:30a.m. - 11:30a.m.
Fee: Drop-In for $5
Location: Carriage House at Robin Hill Park
A fulfilled hour of dance and exercise.  All levels of dance skill welcome.

Bus Trip – Titusville Railroad (Ages 55+) - ** TIME CHANGE ** 
Date: Thursday, July 12
** TIME CHANGE **  - Due to Titusville Railroad updating their trip schedule, we have updated our schedule to the following:
Departure Time and Location: Bus leaves the Robin Hill Park Carriage House at 7:30a.m. Returns approx. 5/5:30p.m.
Fee: $58 per person
Registration: Register before Thursday, July 5.
As you board the motor coach, you will receive a morning snack bag. We will then travel to Titusville, PA and board “The Wabash” Oil Creek and Titusville railroad’s first-class air-conditioned rail car. A 3-hour narrated tour is included. Facilities, snack bar and beverage car available. We will board our motor coach to start our return stopping in Grove City at Hoss’s Steak and Seafood Restaurant for dinner on you own. *The train is not wheelchair accessible.

Senior Connection Family Carnival (Ages 55+)
Date: Monday, July 16
Time: 3:00p.m. - 7:00p.m.
Fee: $2.00 per person pre-registration. $4.00 per person at the door.
Registration: Register before Tuesday, July 10.

Senior Connection members are invited to bring their kids, grandkids, and age 55+ friends to our first ever carnival! Games, prizes, inflatables, beverages, and carnival fare food are all included. Don’t miss out on this Summer Extravaganza!

Ladies Tea and Fashion Show (Ages 55+)
Date: Tuesday, July 24
Time: 1:00p.m. - 3:00p.m.
Fee: $10 per person, $8 for Senior Connection members
Registration: Register before Tuesday, July 17.
Location: Robin Hill Center
A lovely summer afternoon tea (iced). Hats, gloves, and or floral attire requested. Scrumptious sandwiches, petit fours, and other delectable food included. A fashion show hosted by the Consignment Cottage. Senior Connection models will be featured. It will be a fun and feminine event.

Stuffed Pork Chop Dinner (Ages 55+)
Date: Monday, August 13
Time: 4:00p.m. - 6:00p.m.
Fee: $10 per person, $8 for Senior Connection members
Register: Register before Thursday, August 9.
Location: Robin Hill Center
Musical entertainment and a delicious stuffed pork chop dinner. Beverages and dessert included.

Music Bingo and Karaoke (Ages 55+)
Date: Tuesday, August 28
Time: 1:00p.m.- 3:00p.m.
Fee: $5 per person, $4 for Senior Connection members
Registration: Register before Thursday, August 23.
Location: Robin Hill Center
Enjoy an afternoon of fun Music Bingo and be a superstar at Karaoke. Great prizes, beverages, and snacks included.

Love Your Grandparents Picnic (Ages 55+)
Date: Sunday, September 16
Time: 1:00p.m.- 3:00p.m.
Fee: $1 per person - Grandparents are free!
Registration:  Register before Friday, August 31.
Location: Moon Park Rotary Pavilion
Bring your family to spend an afternoon together! Enjoy this special day and bring your kids and grandkids. Food bingo, prizes, beverages and lunch included.
